i just got a new plugin for wordpress that allows me to finally crosspost between my blog, Word, and livejournal.

well, alas Hokmang, people (who need to listen) won’t listen.

Sounds to me that a lot of people with repressed latent homosexual tendencies are crying out in the only way they know how – animosity towards “unnatural unions”.

if two people love each other, why shouldn’t they get married?

of course, i still wonder where this whole (ficticious) separation of church and state comes into play. all the LAWS they’re trying to force quote scripture – ie. church.

Take for example, the addition of “Under God” into the “Pledge of ALlegience” by Eisenhower in 1954. Why was this done? Well, to ward off those pink commies trying to bring their way of thinking into America. Basically, to instill into Americans that the US is a nation of god-fearing and loving people. To ward off the advance of ‘the cold war’ (which turned out to be bullshit anyway).

“From this day forward, the millions of our school children will daily proclaim in every city and town, every village and rural schoolhouse, the dedication of our Nation and our people to the Almighty.” President Eisenhower (1954) after signing into law a bill to have “under God” added to the original pledge.

A follow-up:

“The statement that the United States is a nation ‘under God’ is an endorsement of religion. It is a profession of a religious belief, namely, a belief in monotheism,” Rulings by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2002-JUN and 2003-FEB.

Basically, USA is a monotheistic society according to government ruling. That alone states that the US is a religious state, which in my opinion goes against the origins of the constitution.

But who’s god? Christian god? Which one? Is the Baptist god the same as the catholic one? They sure as hell aren’t going to the same heaven when they die. (just ask a baptist)

One of my favorite jokes:

Two people died and went to heaven, a methodist and a catholic. The Methodist landed at St. Peter’s gate and was instructed to go to room 11, but be quite while passing room 8. The Catholic was instructed to go to room 16 but be silent while passing room 8. Finally someone who was in the back of the line asked why the tip-toeing around room 8? St. Peter said: it is the Baptist room and they think they are the only ones here.

The point of this? The people making these laws think they’re the only ones here. It’s not the case. There’s a large number of gays, lesbians, and friends thereof who pay taxes, abide by laws, and are decent human beings. And more importantly – CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. More and more people are not being represented by the elected officials. It’s time for a change.
