I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and work for the University of Arkansas in the MultiMedia Resource Center. What do I do there? Computer stuff mainly - systems administration (Windows and UNIX servers), some multimedia work, but mainly support online/distance learning initiatives on campus.

zenandjuice.com is pretty much my personal site, most of the work here is my own - either writings or music, but I have some sections devoted to friend's work. Check everything out and let me know what you think.

all i've got is a photograph...

I was recently accused of NOT smiling... but I smile all the time. I just rarely smile for photographs. Random photos of me can be found throughout the photos section, but my current favorite follows...

interests

• movies - I have a huge movie collection, and adore independent, foreign, intelligent humor, drama, documentaries, and so forth.... I'm more interested in directors and writers than actors. (Amelie is my favorite movie of all time. Chocolat is ranked highly as well.)
• music - i also have a huge music collection, spanning the entire spectrum of music. I've been playing guitar for 15 years, along with a few other instruments. I currently own 4 guitars, an acoustic bass, and a mandolin
• photography - my camera is near me 24/7. It's my main source of creativity. I'll photograph anything, but prefer photographing people. I've easily taken over 20,000 photographs in my life, some of my favorites are found at http://zenandjuice.com/photos/.
• reading, writing - i love to read - fiction, plays, poetry, history, biographies. Some of my favorite authors include Douglas Coupland, Kurt Vonnegut Jr, Howard Zinn, Tom Stoppard, Anne Rice, Stephen King... to name a few.
• Animals/Aquatics - I currently have 3 cats and several aquariums. I've owned many different types of animals throughout my life
• web and graphic design - I've been doing web design since 1994. After hand-coding everything for the first 8 years, I switched to Dreamweaver for ease of site management. I also use Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Imageready, and Illustrator.
• Cooking - I've been cooking Thai food for 12 years. I love ethnic food, primarily asian (thai, indian, japanese, chinese), and can cook it all. Mexican and European cuisines are also appreciated and created. I'm currently researching traditional Ethiopian food, along with some other regional cuisines.

I also enjoy the outdoors, spending time with friends, some games (Mahjonng, Scrabble, Uno, Solitaire, Trivia Pursuit), and a really good cup of coffee.
