From: Brendan Duffy (b_duffy@hotmail.com) TEARS ARE COOL (R. McGinley) transcribed by brendan duffy (b_duffy@hotmail.com) As far as I can tell, this is played on three guitars, no bass, and drums only toward the end. The basic chords, as any fule kno, are G and C but it sounds better (and more Fanclub-esque) if you play G as 320033 and C as 332033, which I suppose is really not your common or garden C at all. Is it C9th or Csus? I'm not sure. The chorus is the tricky bit - what I notate as A7sus is 002030, and D7sus is X00313. Just plain Amin 7th (002010) will probably do instead of the A7sus. This song is absolute murder for a four-piece band to play... I've tried it. Still, it's one of the most moving love songs the Fanclub, and especially McGinley, have written. G C I wanna talk to you C G I don't want something that I get for nothing G C I wanna talk to you C G I know when something isn't worth discussing F C A7sus D7sus C G You might say I know but you always knew F C A7sus D7sus C G I could be unkind but I can't be cruel All my lies are false but your heart is true When I see you cry I think tears are cool etc.
