i almost hit a deer tonite… iwas going down the road, it jumped out, and stopped.
i slowed down and it wandered on… it was a biggun.
reminds me of incidents where my sister lives near hackett.
there’s a long stretch of old highway where there’s no lights, as often is the case on old highways.
and there’s this one farmer who always has cows escape.
and the cows wander out onto the road.
and stand there.
occasionally a car will come speeding down the road, pass over a dip in the road, and come upon
a cow. at 55+ mph.
now, the center of gravity of a cow pretty much is it’s body. and that’s a big ol body.
the legs crumple from the impact of the front bumper, however. the cow’s body kinda just
smashed right into the windshield, and keeps going.
so, the cars usually get messed up badly and flip and do nasty things.
even worse things happen to the people in the car.
so, over the last couple years, they’ve had several deaths there.
cows get out, cows get killed, people don’t see the cows, and they get killed too.
the farmer patches up the fence, and the cows find a way out.
true story.
but the deer ran across the road, and wasn’t injured.
