Spicy Roasted Brussels Sprouts November 27, 2007

Ingredients
Serves 4.
* 2 containers (10 ounces each) brussels sprouts, ends trimmed, halved lengthwise through core
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* Coarse salt and ground pepper
* 1/2 cup medium-spicy kimchi with juice
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. On a rimmed baking sheet toss the Brussels sprouts with oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast, tossing once, until Brussels sprouts are brown and tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
2. Add the kimchi to the Brussels sprouts and combine, then cook until the kimchi is heated through, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve warm.
Stewed Green Beans and Poblanos November 27, 2007

Ingredients
Serves 12.
* 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
* 1 1/2 medium onions, thinly sliced
* 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
* 3 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
* 3 poblano chiles, seeds and ribs removed, cut into 1/4-inch strips (3 cups)
* 1 cup water
* 1 tablespoon coarse salt
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Directions
1. Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until beginning to caramelize, about 13 minutes.
2. Add garlic and cook until soft, about 2 minutes. Add green beans, chiles, water, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer until green beans and chiles are tender and liquid has evaporated, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately.

Time Machine backups via network shares November 9, 2007
Posted by zenandjuice in : OSX , 1 comment so farBy default, Apple’s Leopard (OS 10.5) only allows Time Machine to backup to connected drives.
“Mindflux” posted a workaround to allow network drives to be used !
Run this from terminal and load up time machine to select your drive! You don’t need to hook the drive up to the Mac first, you dont have to go chowning files and all that nonsense.

Even easier, someone wrote an automator script that does this for you.
