Jan 27, 2008 – Message from Dave regarding postponed shows…
Current mood: Dazed
Current temperature: 101.1Hey everybody…..
Laying here in my Nashville hotel room, sick as a dog, but I had to write you all something, because anyone who knows this band knows we RARELY ever cancel gigs. Someone’s gotta be pretty thrashed in order for that to happen.
Well……..yours truly is down for the count. Big time. The last thing in the world I want to do is jump up on stage and give you guys some half-ass version of what a Foo’s show is all about. That’s just not fair. And, it would break my heart. Unfortunately, in my current (crappy flu) condition, you wouldn’t be getting the show you guys deserve. And, that’s the most important thing to me.
You have my word that we’ll make it up to you. We always keep those promises. I’m so sorry for any inconvenience. Knowing that you guys will be bummed makes me feel even shittier, believe me.
See you soon. Thanks, guys……. Dave
Linksys Hacking January 7, 2008
Posted by zenandjuice in : Geek , add a commentSo I finally took the time to re-flash my Linksys WRT54G Router so that it can act as a Wireless Bridge.
Why? The house is too big to have a decent wireless signal while I’m sitting in the front living room, or on the patio.
Our wireless router is in the back part of the house, and the signal gets mighty weak when we’re in the other half.
So, using the instructions and third-party firmware available from DD-WRT, I successfully setup a second router to re-broadcast the wireless signal from our primary router.
Now to work on reducing the noise, and maybe build some better antennas.
Lone Pine Ranch Animal Shelter Needs Blankets January 4, 2008
Posted by zenandjuice in : Randomness , 1 comment so farLone Pine Ranch Animal Shelter is in desperate need of REAL winter, keep you warm, type of blankets to keep the dogs warm. Blankets made with wool, polyester, or the vellux type are great. PLEASE no comforters, electric blankets (unless you pull the wires out), or sheets.
Our goal is to put blankets in each of the dogs’ houses so that they can curl up in them and keep warm. When the blankets get too ratty, they are thrown away. The dogs at LP live outside and each have their own dog house and their kennels have a roof and tarps are wrapped around them.
For drop off / pick up information, please call Kim Ross at 479-366-0508.
Lone Pine is a non-profit 501(c)3 no kill shelter.
